A few days ago I was writing a letter and had a question about comma usage. I cared enough to look around the Interwebs for an answer but grumbled when I came across this guide. It used words like “beware,” “serious error,” and “ignorance” as well as the phrase “the dreaded comma splice.”
Holy crap, guys. Chill out. Dread things like pain and anxiety. Beware of traffic when you are crossing the street. But don’t dread a stupid comma splice.
Take a deep breath, linguists. Everything will be okay.
