The rate at which my sleep cycle changed on this trip startled me. Even though I didn’t sleep much for the first few nights I almost instantly shifted to waking up slightly before sunrise and falling asleep not long after sunset.
My “oh, shit” moment came when I realized that I was on my way to Burning Man. Burning Man’s cycle works the opposite way. Get going around sunset, party hearty and head to sleep a bit before sunrise. (Maybe eat some food, take a nap or tend to personal hygiene at some point.)
Some serious napping will be in order out there on the playa. Hopefully the shift to playa-rhythm will be as seamless as the shift to camping rhythm.
