I don’t think that I have ever promoted a book on my blog. I am about to and the book is good. Back when I was blogging at Our Take On Freedom I wrote briefly about Kayak Dov’s epic on-water adventure from Spain to Israel. Well, Dov just published a book chronicling his training and journey and it’s available at a suggested donation of $10. I get nothing for your purchasing it and Dov didn’t ask me to write about it. It’s just a really fun read, putting you in the shoes of a quirky and funny young kayaker adventuring around Europe.
“I battled the sea, fled from security forces, got trapped in self-cleaning bathrooms, slept in gutters, climbed over lots of fences, lit my shirt on fire, enjoyed fine European cuisine, retched with food poisoning, tiptoed around damnation, and had the time of my life.
I didn’t have any trauma or an epiphany that led me to set off to break a kayaking record and I was far from an expert kayaker. I just had a few months set aside, and a tremendous reservoir of determination.”
Your $10 helps to fund Dov’s current trip from Spain to Cyprus. My one warning: the book comes in a 231 page neatly-laid-out PDF so you’ll be doing your reading on-screen. It’s worth it. Buy Dov’s book here.
