Thanks to a listing on freecampsites.com Cara and I found a sweet spot to call home just outside the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park. In exploring the area we each quickly found our pastimes for the afternoon.
I found the head of a dead elk to dissect and Cara found a cardboard box that became a longbow target (yes, we have a 60″ longbow in the RV).
That evening was pretty rad, featuring geocaching, episodes of 30 Rock, great views, and an appreciation of the RV’s furnace which kept us warm. The following day’s visit to Mesa Verde was filled with plenty of hiking and expansive views, including peeks at distant rock formations we would be heading toward in Utah.
